Chicago Women’s Park & Garden
Chicago Women’s Park & Garden wanted to dress up its curb appeal on Indiana Avenue while honoring historically significant Chicagoans.
The approach to completing large window vinyl graphics for CWP&G began with identifying Chicago’s most historically impactful women, from Frances Glessner Lee to Ida B. Wells-Barnett. Then came the daunting task of sourcing high-res imagery of the selected women in compositions that worked well in the greater layout, imagery that was as close to free as possible given most non-profits’ preferred budget of “none.” Days were dedicated to calling and emailing historical societies, libraries, and newspapers to attain the desired images. Processing the images to bring the vision to life was balanced with making adjustments alongside the fabricators.
